    Our Place Community of Hope offers recreational and social programs to adults living with mental illness.

    We receive a weekly donation (Mondays, 11am-2:00 pm) of food from Second Harvest that needs to be moved from their truck into the Centre, sorted under the direction of our the Managerand rotated into existing stocks in fridges, freezers and store room.

    Under the direction of our Manager, food in pantry, fridges and freezers needs to be rotated and replaced with newer donations.

    Duties will include, but are not limited to:

    •Unloading the truck;
    •Breaking down boxes;
    •Putting groceries away in the pantry, freezer and fridge;
    •Defrosting freezers; and
    •Assisting in sorting food.

    During an Orientation session, Volunteer Applications are completed and applicants are interviewed by the Senior Operations Manager.

    A Criminal Reference Check and resume will also be required. If you have these, please bring them to the orientation. If not, we can work with you to complete both.
