    Description & Details
    We need student volunteers who are able to volunteer in our long term care home and visit residents, help with recreation programs i.e. crafts, music, exercises, arts and crafts, games, bingo, gift shop, coffee sales and ice-cream fundraisers, gardening, greeter etc. For students 14 yrs+ this can be also be a summer opportunity to complete 40 hours!

    Training: General Orientation mandatory – a 3.5 hour session is held once a month. Additional training sessions/opportunities available.

    Process for volunteering: Attend an Orientation, have a personal interview and submit an application, references (forms provided) and if over 18 yrs. complete the form for a vulnerable person’s police check.

    Skills required: Interested in socializing, visiting with seniors. Patient, reliable, compassionate.
